    "Real Gone"

Ally Venable is a Blues artist, and is one of the more recent Blues artists. Her 2023 release, Real Gone reached #1 on Billboard's Blues Albums chart. She's a singer, guitar player, and songwriter. Real Gone is her fifth album; her first album was released in 2014. Her talents absolutely shines on Real Gone. Her guitar playing, vocals are outstanding. She co-wrote 8 of the 12 songs on Real Gone.

If there's a song that truly starts out an album in a fantasic way, it definitely has to be the title track Real Gone. This song is an all-out Rocker! And your thought is, WOW! You'll be curious how the rest of the album will be. In one word - FANTASTIC! Keep Listenin' ... "Going Home" has great vocals by Ally, she belts it out on this song. Another impressive female singer comes to mind ... Susan Tedeschi. "Justifyin'" is another great Rocker! KEEP LISTENIN' ... "Broken And Blue" is a great slow Blues tune, as it features another great guitarist, Joe Bonamassa.

"Don't Lose Me" is another good Rock and Blues song, with an ! (Exclamation Point!) Ally' voice continues its greatness on "Any Fool Should Know," as it has a nice Rock flow throughout the song. Buddy Guy guests on the next track, "Texas Louisiana." It's great Rockin' Blues, with both Ally and Buddy playin' and singin'. "Kick Your Ass" lives up to its name - It has a great Southern Rock/Country Rock sound. The 3-chord slow Blues is heard on "Blues Is My Best Friend," and it is also another great tune. "Gone So Long" slows down the pace, and in a good way. "Hold My Ground" definitely holds it's ground; another great Rock song. Ending the album is "Two Wrongs," and it's another great Rock song. And I can't help but hear the song "Take Me To The River," which The Talking Heads covered. Yet, I hear this cover tune in a more Rocking form, alongside Ally's "Two Wrongs." Still, it's another great song. And yes, you just have to KEEP LISTENIN'; in fact, you just may want to go back to track one, and listen all over again to this great album.

Real Gone by Ally Venable is a great Blues album. It probably took her fifth album to get notice, as it hit #1. With four albums behind her, you wonder if those past albums are just as great as the fifth. Better yet, if you're looking to discover a new Blues artist, you can't go wrong with Ally Venable's Real Gone album. Every song is great, as Ally shows how talented she is, with her singing, guitar playing, and songwriting skills.
